Abbie Milich | LICSW
She/Her
PSYCHOTHERAPIST
Hello!
I’m Abbie. I feel honored to be a part of your process. My goal as a strengths-based therapist is to meet each client where they are with unconditional positive regard and empathy. I specialize in substance use disorders, trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, and life transitions. I utilize multiple therapeutic modalities such as DBT, parts-based therapies, mindfulness practices, and CBT.
I received my Master’s of Social Work from the University of Georgia. Following graduation, I worked as a social worker in the Neuro-Critical Care Unit of Emory University Hospital. After moving cities, I started working in UAB’s Intensive Outpatient Addiction Recovery Program as both an individual and group therapist. I primarily work with adults and adolescents.
My main aspiration as a therapist is to make each client who walks in (whether virtual or in person) feel seen and heard. I feel passionate about creating a nonjudgmental, safe-space where clients can “take off their mask” and truly lean into their authentic self. As a therapist and human, I value well-balanced living, which encompasses physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of life. I believe that we are the expert of our own experiences, and I am here to bear witness to your story and offer nonjudgmental support and insight.
I hope we have an opportunity to work together!
