Caroline Holman | LICSW
She/Her
PSYCHOTHERAPIST
Hello!
I’m Caroline. I’m a therapist who specializes in substance use disorders, trauma, emotional dysregulation, stress management, and life transitions. I utilize motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, CBT, DBT, and strengths-based therapy. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental environment and provide space for each person to discover who they are, while finding acceptance and building resilience within their own story.
I received my Master’s of Social Work from The University of Alabama. After graduation, I worked as a social worker with UAB’s heart/lung transplant team for five years. I later transitioned to UAB’s Addiction Recovery Program and worked as a therapist there for two years. During this time, I returned to school and received a graduate certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CCMHC). Most recently, I have been working as a therapist with UAB Sparks Center. I currently work with adults 18 and up.
When I think of those seeking counseling services, I can’t help but think of wildflowers. Wildflowers are diverse, yet symbolize unity. They are known for their strength and resilience, which helps them to adapt to their surroundings. With a little support, I believe we all have the ability to bloom where we are planted regardless of our environment, much like a wildflower.
Everyone has a story, and every story matters. I’d be honored to hear yours and be a part of your journey.
