Our brain operates very similarly as our body (especially since it is a part of our body). When our body becomes injured, such as getting a cut, our body automatically springs into action. They start forming a scab, the scab falls off, and the body is healed. Our brains work in this same manner. Traumatic experiences are stored in the brain and nervous system, leading to various psychological and emotional difficulties. Brainspotting works by accessing and activating the brain's self-healing mechanisms to process and resolve these traumatic experiences.
